Jens-Uwe Gordon

Jens-Uwe Gordon was the most decorated player on the 1984 and 1985 championship North Salinas High basketball teams. In 1984, the Vikings won the school’s first Central Coast section title, a feat they repeated in 1985. Gordon was selected MVP of both the Central Coast Section and Northern California in his senior season. To top off his prep career he was named a McDonald’s All-American–a team which consisted of the top 100 players in the United States.
Gordon received a full-ride basketball scholarship to Santa Clara University and was a starter all four years.

He then had a short stint with the San Antonio Spurs before spending the next 18 years playing for leagues in Japan, Greece, Spain, France and Germany. After retiring he returned to Salinas, to become a head coach for the Salinas High boy’s and girls’ varsity
basketball teams.
