Clem Richardson Jr.

Clem has exemplified a lifelong passion for athletics, grounded in integrity, faith, and service to the Salinas Valley community. A 1967 graduate of Palma High School, he earned MVP honors in football, basketball, and golf, and at Stanford he lettered in football and golf. Athletic competition taught him important life lessons.

His accomplished golf career includes numerous amateur victories, the 1975 California State Championship medalist title, the 1991 Salinas City Championship, and an extraordinary 11 club championships at Corral de Tierra Country Club. Yet his impact reaches beyond competition.

As a longtime coach at Palma School, Richardson guided his teams to sustained success, including multiple league championships, a CCS title, appearances in the Northern California Finals, and a State Final appearance. Guided by his Catholic faith, he instilled values for good citizenship. His teams were known not only for winning, but for demonstrating respect—for one another, their opponents, and the courses they played.

Committed to service, he dedicated decades to coaching youth sports, mentoring young people, and giving back to our community. Through every role, Richardson has embodied the pursuit of excellence, showing that true greatness is defined by character, humility, and a life lived in service to others.
